Building Connections and Communities: Rachel's Story of Growth and Leadership
When you meet Rachel Andrianne, her warm energy and passion for growth are contagious.
Originally from Luxembourg and having lived in Belgium and Canada before moving to Denmark, Rachel has always been drawn to working with people and ideas, making her mark in the world of marketing and communications. But her story isn’t just about climbing the career ladder—it’s about finding joy in connecting with others, leading, and creating opportunities for others to thrive.
The Start of a Passionate Career
Rachel’s professional journey began in communications and marketing, a world she describes as both creative and fast-paced.
“I’ve always loved communication,” she says with a smile. “It’s about bringing ideas to life, telling stories, and connecting with audiences in meaningful ways. Marketing gave me the opportunity to work on exciting projects and explore my creative side while building strategies that deliver real results.”
Rachel moved to Denmark, seeking a new adventure. However, starting fresh in a new country brought its challenges—building a network, understanding the local job market, and navigating cultural differences.
One of the biggest challenges?
The language.
“At first, it was just overwhelming. You’re surrounded by Danish language all the time, and it feels like it’s everywhere—in the supermarket, on the bus, on signs—and you can’t escape it,” Rachel recalls. But instead of letting it discourage her, she approached it with patience and persistence. “It’s humbling, but every small win feels like a big victory,” she says. “The first time I understood a full sentence in public, I felt like I’d just unlocked a secret code.”
Her approach to learning Danish mirrors the way she tackles everything else in her life: step by step, one small milestone at a time. “I knew I had to find a way to establish myself here, both professionally and personally,” she says. And that’s exactly what she did.
Leadership, Growth, and Project Management
Rachel didn’t just join The Career Club DK board—she thrived and helped the organisation grow and improve. Within months, she was leading the events team, introducing new structures and processes that made a lasting impact.
“When I started, we were planning events just a week or two ahead. It was stressful and chaotic,” she laughs. “I wanted to change that. Now, we plan months in advance, which has made everything so much smoother. It’s allowed us to collaborate better with other teams and create even more meaningful events.”
Her approach didn’t just stop at improved timelines. Rachel saw an opportunity to make the event team itself more dynamic. “We have a rotating role system now,” she explains. “Instead of people getting stuck doing the same tasks every event, we rotate roles. It keeps things fresh, gives people a chance to learn something new, and keeps the team excited to show up. It’s been a game-changer for motivation and creativity.”
Her amazing planning skills were evident in Rachel’s work on the Women’s Empowerment Summit.
“It’s one of our biggest annual events,” she explains. “The Women’s Empowerment Summit brings together inspiring speakers and workshops that focus on personal and professional growth for women.” The 2024 summit welcomed over 250 guests and featured more than 20 speakers. While most people are just easing into the new year, Rachel and the team are already deep into planning for the 2025 summit (scheduled for March) —months ahead of schedule.
Love for Marketing and Communications
Even as she’s flourished in project management, Rachel remains deeply connected to her roots in marketing and communication.
“It’s such a dynamic industry, and I love how it’s always evolving. Whether I’m working on a campaign or managing a project, it’s all about finding innovative ways to connect with people,” she says.
As she advanced in her career, Rachel embraced data-driven approaches to marketing, noting, “In the internal marketing team of the agency, we strived to be more data-driven to have much more insights.” This transition required her to deeply analyze data to ensure that every decision was strategic and impactful. “I needed very clear insights to create campaigns that make sense... and kickstart initiatives that have maximum impact,” she added, reflecting on how this shift shaped her professional approach.
By relying on data, Rachel built a solid foundation for creating initiatives that aligned with both business objectives and audience needs. This analytical mindset has continued to influence her work, including her efforts at Career Club DK, demonstrating her commitment to balancing creativity with measurable impact.
What Career Club DK Means to Rachel
For Rachel, Career Club DK has been more than just a professional network—it’s been a source of inspiration and belonging. “I’ve met so many incredible people here. It’s a space where you can be vulnerable, share your challenges, and grow together. Everyone is so supportive, and the community we’ve built is truly special.”
Full Circle: Planning for the Future
Looking back, Rachel reflects on how much has changed since that first Nytårskur she nervously attended alone. Now, as the events team lead, she’s planning this year’s Nytårskur, which will be hosted on January 23rd at Zoku Copenhagen.
“It’s such a meaningful event,” she says. “There’s something really powerful about starting the year by letting go of the past and stepping forward with a fresh perspective—and doing it with a room full of people who are all doing the same.”
With upcoming events like the Women’s Empowerment Summit and other exciting planned events, Rachel is leading the way in making Career Club DK an even more vibrant, welcoming space for everyone.
“I love how far we’ve come as a team,” she says. “And I’m so excited to see what’s next—for the club, for the community, and for all of us who call it home.”

Finding a New Home at Career Club DK
In her search for community and growth, Rachel discovered Career Club DK. “I wanted to expand my professional network and meet like-minded people,” she explains.
Her first event was the nytårskur event, where everyone gathers to reflect on the past year and burn symbolic notes of what they’re ready to leave behind (also a personal favorite of the writer of this article, who may have instigated some past chants of “Burn, Burn Burn…”)
“I went alone, and I was nervous, but the second I arrived, I felt so welcome. Everyone was so friendly and supportive—it was like stepping into a big, warm family.”
That event marked the beginning of a transformative journey. A few months later, Rachel was invited to join the board as part of the events team. “It was such an exciting opportunity,” she says. “I’ve always been interested in community building and events, so this felt like a perfect fit.”
Diversity, Inclusion, and a Commitment to Community
One of the things that stands out most about Rachel is her ability to create safe, inclusive spaces. Her work at Career Club DK reflects a deep understanding of what it means to feel seen, supported, and valued.
“When I joined, I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to contribute in a way that felt good for them. We all have different skills and strengths, and I wanted to build a system where people felt excited to try new things and be part of something bigger,” she explains.
